Hair Restoration

Hair Loss is a complex medical condition, and those who experience their hair falling, thinning, or appearing in large amounts on their brush or comb should consult a hair loss specialist.

The changes of appearance caused by hair loss are often times undesired, can be frustrating and may cause low self-esteem. While many people feel forced to deal with their hair loss as it progresses naturally, this does not have to be the case. There are many medical treatments available to regrow hair and prevent or significantly delay further hair loss.

With the help of Vineeta Keswani, MD, a specialist in hair loss, a diagnosis can be made and the appropriate hair loss treatment can be discussed.

Dr. Keswani specializes in Woman’s Hair Loss and with Men in their early stages of hair loss. Her own personal battle with hair loss has made her especially knowledgeable to the complexities involved in both the medical and psychological aspects and management of hair loss.  Through a comprehensive plan created by her, encompassing nutrition, local scalp treatments, hormone balance, and low level laser light therapy she can help you fight your hair loss.

Dr. Keswani will perform an in depth evaluation of your overall health and your hair loss. She will assess your individual case and discuss which treatments are best for you. Schedule your appointment today!

Injections

Dr. Keswani is an expert injector of Botox. Her years of experience in the ER with traumatic facial injuries and their reconstruction and advanced certification in Botox makes her especially talented in giving you a natural, rejuvenated look without looking overdone or plastic. All Botox injections are personally planned out by Dr. Keswani.

Botox®

Botox® is the first and only FDA approved treatment to temporarily improve and reduce frown lines and crow’s feet. When you concentrate, squint or frown, you are causing your skin to furrow and fold which results in unwanted wrinkles. Botox is a natural, purified protein that is injected into the muscle to block the nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduction in the muscle activity will reduce the formation and appearance of deep lines and wrinkles. While the results are dramatic, it will not radically change your facial appearance. The muscles are simply relaxed, so you can still frown, smile or look surprised without the wrinkles and creases.

Botox injections are usually painless and in most cases anesthetic is not required. However, the area may be numbed with an ice pack or topical anesthetic, especially for those that are particularly sensitive. A series of small injections are directly administered into very specific muscles in the face to achieve the desired effects. There is usually no down time but in some cases you might experience slight bruising and swelling that can be iced and covered with makeup. Usually there are no side effects, but you may experience a slight tingling sensation or soreness in the areas.

What should patients do prior to treatment?

Avoid the following products/medications 1 week prior to your treatment to avoid bruising:

  • Aspirin, Ibuprofen, St. John’s Wort, Vitamin E, Ginseng, Ginkgo Biloba, Omega-3 Fatty acids and alcohol

Botox is contraindicated if you are pregnant, breast feeding, allergic to Botox or if there is presence of an infection at the proposed injection site. If you are prone to cold sores, please inform Dr. Keswani so that you can be placed on anti-viral medication.

What should patients do after treatment?

Remain upright for 4 hours (do not lie down flat or do reclining floor exercises). Do not press or massage the area but do perform the indicated facial exercises every 15 minutes for 2 hours. Use ice as needed, avoid excessive sun or heat exposure and apply sunscreen before exposure to sun. It is advised not to exercise for 24 hours and to return in 2 weeks for a no-charge post treatment recheck.

Skin Rejuvenation

Microneedling with Dermapen

Dermapen is a revolutionary micro-needling device which aims to tighten, lift and rejuvenate skin. Dermapen was the original micro-needling system made available in the world market. Dermapen 3 uses the newest and most superior AOVN™ technology and has the advantages of all older devices. It is the most precise technology which makes this device more effective and superior than dermal rollers, dermal stamps and various other imitation needling devices.

The Dermapen is used to visibly improve the appearance of:

  • Aged eyes
  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Surgical, acne and trauma scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Pigmentation

The Dermapen is a handheld device with an internal motor and fine needles on its tip. The needles in the Dermapen tip move up and down at a rapid speed. When the needle tip makes contact with the skin, the needles create tiny punctures in the skin’ssurface causing micro-trauma, inducing an immune response and hence creating new collagen.  The collagen production creates tighter, smoother skin. The punctures on the skin also act as micro-channels that carry topical nutrients deep into the skin layers for an enhanced effect of skin rejuvenation. Dr. Keswani uses stem cells after her treatment that enter the micro channels further improving collagen production.

Eye Rejuvenation

As eyes begin to age, the skin around the eyes becomes loose and saggy. Lasers and peels which are used to tighten other areas of the skin, are not safe to use around the eyes. Micro-needling with Dermapen is a safe and unique way to effectively treat tired, saggy eyes. Dr. Keswani is one of the very few doctors in the Westlake area certified in treatment of Micro-needling with Dermapen.

Below are some before and after pictures of patients who have undergone Dermapen treatment.

Dermapen FAQ's

PRP

PRP stands for Platelet rich plasma. With PRP, your own blood is used to heal, regenerate tissues and build collagen. This treatment modality harnesses the healing power of your own blood. When your blood is drawn, platelets and growth factors are separated from the blood and when injected they stimulate a stem cell response and a tissue repair response. These stem cells help you to grow new collagen and blood vessels, repair and regenerate damaged skin and help slow the signs of aging.

Functional & Regenerative Medicine

This includes IV Nutrition, improving gut health, oral supplements of vitamins and minerals and whole bodybalancing with herbal medications. Dr. Keswani is actively formulating treatment plans for these services which will be available in 2016.

Anti-aging

Optimal maintenance of brain, bone, skin and overall health can be achieved with an orchestra of several treatment modalities. Among those, studies have shown that bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) if prescribed properly and under the guidance of a trained, certified expert has shown to delay the effects of aging including but not limited to osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, muscle wasting, skin aging and cardiovascular disease. BHRT is the administration of natural estrogen, progesterone and testosterone and not synthetic versions of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. You can be rest assured that Dr. Keswani has done extensive research and studying on the safest and most effective way to administer BHRT to her patients. Dr. Keswani will perform a complete hormone and nutritional assessment and will soon be offering BHRT.
